Spiralling into Trust

Hi Reader,

I had a few days in France after the retreat. I thought this image suited today's topic! It's from the Cathedral in Carcassone which is a few hours from the retreat's grounds in a beautiful natural Qifield. Before practice one morning, the teacher leading mentioned that this area was once home to the Cathars ~ a group of people who dedicated their lives to working on ascension. The teacher wondered how the history of Europe may have been changed if they had succeeded. An interesting question indeed.

Trust is one of the five heart qualities we focus on in Ren Xue. It is the gateway to our hearts. Without trust how can we open? Without openness, how can we give and receive love? Without love connecting us all, how can the natural flow of gratitude move between us? Without all of those qualities plus compassion, empathy, acceptance and more, how can we possibly begin to understand the oneness of us and everything? And how true respect and deep humility help evoke that connection?

In modern times, we often think of trust as being related to a particular person, thing or outcome. Our desire for control wants us to trust that things will go according to our own perceived needs. But that's not really how true trust works.

Trust resides in our hearts no matter how many layers of patterns we've piled on top. Trust remains with us even when we no longer remain in trust. It is our natural state. State is a way of being that does not rely on our fleeting emotions. Being in a good state holds us steady, keeps us clear, and promotes good health. This good state is the foundation of a good Yuan Qigong practice. Yuan Qigong practice helps promote this good state and gently opens us to the Universe. Yes, that also needs some trust.

The seventh method of Yuan Qigong – one of my dearest and most valued "friends" – is Tong Yuan. It is a still practice dedicated to cultivating our heart qualities. It has been essential in my growth and healing as I spiral my way into learning how to trust. Getting to unconditional trust is certainly a process:) I've made some progress and I have much more to learn.

You can read more about my journey into trust and my experience of what trust means in my Qiblog "What is Trust?"

Qi Writers

TRUST is the theme for the next Qi Writers course. We begin Tuesday, June 13 for six weeks.

What is Qi Writers?

As a writer, I’ve integrated Ren Xue teachings and my experience applying them to myself and created a unique, intimate process for you.

I’ll provide some wisdom teachings and literary prompts. Like seeds, you’ll grow their meaning from the inside out. I am there as your guide and support but you are the interpreter of how it applies to you. Images, words, and internal sensations form in a way that you understand based on your life experiences.

Learn how to connect with your natural wisdom to open pathways for growing love, courage, and a new zest for life. Combined with deep listening, free writing, and a supportive circle of like-hearted others, together we’ll create the space for safely exploring whatever arises in the moment. The Qifield will support us.

Being together and building a field of trust and openness can move us into our hearts creating opportunities for realizations to arise naturally.

It can be a catalyst for self-discovery helping you feel more grounded, clear, and joyful.

As your joy and internal calm increase, they radiate out to others around you creating a mutually beneficial cycle.

This class is suitable for beginners, but if you haven't had any Ren Xue experience please check in with me so I can provide you with some background information.

If you've been life cultivating for a while, this course offers some unique ways to examine your patterns from new angles.

It also tends to bring out beautiful surprises so please come with a light-hearted sense of adventure!

Life is an invitation to perpetual introspection, change, and growth. Whether you have a writer’s soul or have never written, whether you’re just beginning your inward journey or want to magnify your self-inquiry, I invite you to join me on a voyage of inner exploration in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Sending you bright Qi and ease for a trust inspired week.

Wu Xin,

Stephanie

April 28, 2024 Dear Reader, I had a joyful trip down to Fresno, California for a long awaited in-person Ren Xue retreat. It was a long journey with 3 connections but delightful people experiences along the way. My arrival back in Canada had a bumpier landing and a fresh opportunity to have a look at how my patterns are doing out in the ordinary world. I’ll highlight some observations and patterns as I tell you the story. I’m aware there are more-it's ok if you don't email me to tell me about...
